Remember When?
|
|
Boys here are some of my favorite memories of the time we have spent together.
"Every time I think of you, I give thanks to my God" Phil. 1:3

Boys, do you remember the three questions I used to ask you? I would ask you - How much do I love you? You would answer - With all my heart and soul. I'd then ask - How long will I love you? You'd answer - Forever, Dad. Finally I would ask - What can happen to make me stop loving you? You'd answer - Nothing, Dad. Sons, all of those things are as true today as they were when we said them together. It will never change for me. I will love you always....

Josh, do you remember the remote control race car we had? We would play with it in the kitchen and Nicholas would chase it. Everytime he got close, we would move it a little further and all of us would laugh and laugh and laugh. And then we took it outside my apartment and I would make it go in circles. One time while you were chasing it you stepped on it by accident. We looked at each other and we all started laughing. From that point on, it became a game to see how many times you and Nick could step on it until finally it broke. But it was so much fun we didn't care. It seems like only yesterday.

Do you remember Grandma and Grandpa Nischalke sending us Beanie Babies from Florida? Both of you had favorites that you liked to sleep with at night. You each got to pick 4 Beanie Babies to take to bed with you. In the daytime, the three of us would take turns tossing the beanie babies at each other. You guys really laughed when we played this game. I still have most of those Beanie Babies.

Nicholas you probably won't remember this, but Joshua you probably will. We were driving in the car and it was perfectly quiet. Out of nowhere, Nicholas quoted a line from Baby's Day Out. He said "What a beautiful baby". Just like the guy on the movie! We all laughed so hard. Another time we were sitting down to dinner and Nicholas said "EXCELLENT", just like the guy in the movie.

Nick, you had such a great sense of humor. But when you got mad, you really got mad. One minute Joshua would be chasing you around the house, the next minute you would be chasing him!

Josh, what about Mr. Conductor? We used to take turns hiding him everywhere. At first, I hid him in different parts of the house and pretended to be surprised when we found him in different places. We would be downstairs in the kitchen and I would open a cupboard door and all of the sudden, he was right there! Two minutes later when I took you upstairs for a bath, he was waiting for us there! Then you got the hang of it and started hiding him on me, from that point on he would appear everywhere. Thanks son. That was a lot of fun for both of us. |
